At The Serenity Station Project, we envision a world where every person has access to the resources they need to live a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life. We strive to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. It is common when first entering into recovery from Drugs or Alcohol that you may be found in a place without basic needs. The Serenity Station Project was created to help bridge the gap for those in Recovery to further Recover from Food Insecurity and limited access to Basic Hygiene and Feminine Products. We envision that while we may only have one Serenity Station to start that this will soon become a movement for those in recovery.
Our organization is built on a foundation of compassion, willingness to serve and community involvement. We believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect, and we are committed to using our resources in the most effective and efficient way possible.
Percy Johnson Smith is a native of Charleston, SC and a current resident of Taylors, SC. Percy started his journey into recovery or at least sticking to it as he says at the age of 24. Attending his first AA meeting at the Alano Club of the Piedmont in Greenville, SC he soon fell in love with the people. Percy will tell you the idea was born for The Serenity Station Project after he hosted a sober pool party for one of his AA groups he attends on a regular basis. He was trying to figure out a way to place all the extra snacks as well as extra dry foods and such he had stocked up in his home. He knew that he wanted to give them back to the community and his brothers and sisters in recovery was the perfect fit. Hence The Serenity Station Project was born. Percy is now a very active member in Alcoholics Anonymous & Narcotics Anonymous in the Greenville, SC Area.
